If you live in a larger city or our very own capital, many probably couldn't imagine living somewhere as small, 'grim' or 'end of the line' as North East Lincolnshire. We are not the epicentre for international corporation HQ's, nor do we have our own financial district or amazing transport links to far-reaching places of the globe.
But in fact, North East Lincolnshire, East and West Lindsay and North Lincoln, have a lot to offer, firstly the housing prices.
According to Rightmove the average UK house price is currently £218,300, with a London average being £789,811!
Closely followed by Oxford at an average of £539,861 and Bath at an average of £488,370.
Surprisingly, some of our major cities are much more affordable as an average comparison, with Manchester in at £215,510, Birmingham £207,307 at and Leeds at £202,153.
However, North East Lincolnshire's average for the last year is £154,726 which is still 23% lower than Leeds and 29% lower than the national average.
This large four-bed family home in Scartho is currently on the market for around the UK average house price value (£220,000).
However, this four-bed family home is not the 'average', across the country, for the same value, you would be looking more like a two-bed terrace or semi-detached with a single living space.
As a direct comparison, for £220,000 in London, you can get a 1-bedroom flat, something similar to this.
Based in a suburb some 45-minutes train ride away from the centre of London.
In Bath, our second highest place to live in the UK, you would expect something like this, for the average UK house price of £220,000. While the building exterior is fabulous as Bath is truly a place of beautiful architecture, this is still only a single 1-bedroom flat.
So while in North East Lincolnshire we do not have famous Roman baths, some of the best tourist attractions or row after row of mega multi-million-pound businesses.
We do have a lot to give.
We have our award-winning beaches, we have been voted as the UK's food capital and we have charm, a thirst for shopping local and our community and we have large spacious family homes for the fraction of the price of others!
